Offered for sale is a beautiful Antique, pre-owned Whiting, sterling silver, " Bachelor tea set" with lower half fluting. The pattern/model number is 4789. The Tea Pot measures 7 1/4 inches from the top of the finial to the bottom. The width from the pouring spout to the handle is 6 3/4 inches. The Sugar bowl measures 5-5/8 inches from handle tip to handle tip.
The Creamer measures 4 inches from the pouring spout to the back of the handle tip. It measures 2-3/4 inches high and 1-15/16 inches widest width. Combined weight of all the pieces in the set is 13.25 troy ounces.The Bottom of the Tea Pot has the Whiting Marking, Sterling, the pattern number 4789 and 3/4 of Pint marking. The Creamer also has the same markings except for the liquid mark of 1/4 pint, The Sugar bowl is is marked with the Whiting symbol of a lion with a W in a shield and numbered 4789. The set is in very good pre-owned condition showing normal wear commensurate with age and use. The set has its original wood finial at the top of the tea pot and original ebonized wood handle.
