The firm was founded in 1890 in Boston when Timothy Tuttle began receiving commissions from. Wealthy New England families, to hand craft antique re-creation silver. Beginning in 1923, Tuttle hallmarked his silver with the initials of each incumbent president. In this case Calvin Coolidge (CC) the VI underneath denotes his 6th year in office.
