TIFFANY STERLING TEA KETTLE & STAND c1880 WAVE EDGE - WEIGHS 86 OZ. A monumental, c1880 Tiffany Co. Sterling silver tea kettle, on matching stand, retaining the original, fully hallmarked burner in the Wave Edge pattern. Closely related to Tiffany Chrysanthemum, and introduced shortly after in 1880.
Carpenter (page 66-67) writes that Wave was sleek, innovative and forward looking to the Art Noveau period. While Chrysanthemum was back looking toward more traditional designs. Period engraved florid script monogram, cannot decipher. This c1880 Tiffany sterling Wave Edge tea kettle on stand is 13 1/2 inches tall. And the complete set weighs over 86 standard ounces. Tea kettle interior clean as if little, if ever used. Burner has couple tiny bumps.Handle secure, original heat stops.
