Tiffany Sterling Silver Tea Set c1891 Wave Edge
TIFFANY STERLING TEA SET c1891 WAVE EDGE - ART NOUVEAU. An important c1891 Tiffany sterling silver tea service in the Wave edge pattern. Introduced in 1880 the same year as Tiffany Chrysanthemum, which was considered more traditional. While Wave was more innovative, looking forward to the Art Nouveau movement.
Carpenter illustrates and discusses this pattern page 39 & pages 66-67. The Wave sterling teapot is 9 1/2 inches handle to spout and the set weighs 45 standard ounces. Interior clean as if little used. We had our silversmith replace the heat stops to.
