TIFFANY STERLING SILVER TEAPOT & STAND c1860 AESTHETIC TASTE. A very fine and rare c1860 Tiffany sterling silver tea or coffee pot on matching lamp stand. Made for Tiffany & Co. A nearly identical set made c1850 was made by Tiffany, Young & Ellis and is illustrated in Carpenter's text on page 9.
The teapot in squat pear shape with distinctive "pinched" scalloped. Rim with hand decorated feathered leaf in the channels. Conforming pavilion cover with slender raised panel flutes atop.
Repeating scale on satin ground, retains the original melon fluted bud crown finial. Naturalistic, hand chased satin surface branch form handle and spout.
With leaf and vine accents. Atop the matching, identical hallmarked footed stand with conforming engraved leafy displays. The burner fits snugly to center, with what may be the original wick.The stand atop pierced, well cast leaf and vine crown folded edge. Hand engraved ELP for the original owners. This rare c1860 Tiffany sterling branch handle teapot on stand is 13 inches tall.
