Superb William Forbes 3 Piece Repousse Coin Silver Tête A Tête Tea Set

  
Look at this spectacular early coin silver tête a tête tea set in a beautiful repousse and chased pattern by revered master silversmith William Forbes. Grandson to William Garret Forbes. Willam Forbes earned many things from his grandfather-and immense talent and his hallmark punch which he used a part of-very interesting! This sublime set, of octagonal shape, sitting on a solid foot of the same shape, clad in repousse florals, and chased in scrolls, floral sprays, and stippling, demonstrates his talent in the superbly designed and executed set.

All three pieces remain in pristine antique condition(see condition report) , and bear. Discreet script monogram in each cartouche, on each piece - one side "To Helena;" the other side From Aunt Helena. The history of this piece would place it back to New York City in the 1840s - and in the condition in which it remains, that is almost impossible to believe. A stunning set for posterity, and then some!
