Offered is this elegant silverplate tea and coffee service made by Reed & Barton in a pattern called Regent Shield. The set is comprised of a teapot with hinged lid, coffee server with hinged lid, cream pitcher, covered sugar bowl, waste bowl or spooner, all on a matching two-handled tray. The ornate pattern includes acanthus leaves, swirls and curlicues on the front and back of each piece. Each piece stands on four elaborately curved feet.

The items are marked 5600S. The tray features a chased pattern that coordinates with the teapot and coffee server. The raised sides are decorated with leaves, shells and flourishes to match the other pieces. The tray handles are quite ornate, as you can see in the photos.

The cream pitcher and waste bowl have a gold wash in the interior. The tray measures 26.5 inches long (67.5 cm) and 17.5 inches wide (44.5 cm).

The coffee pot stands 8.75 inches high (22.5 cm) and measures 9.5 inches (24 cm) from handle to spout. The teapot stands 7.75 inches high (19.5 cm) and measures 9.25 inches (23.5 cm) from handle to spout. The sugar bowl stands 5.75 inches high (14.5 cm) to the top of the finial. The creamer stands 5.25 inches high (13.5 cm). The spooner or waste bowl stands 4.25 inches high (11 cm).

This set is in very good used condition. The inside of the waste bowl appears to have been used at least once as an ash tray, which has damaged the gold finish. The item will be insured.
