A very nice set of mid century c. 1950 Japanese 950 "sterling" silver iced tea spoons. They are a fine example of objects made in Occupied Japan, in the late 1940's and early 1950's.
The spoon set's life-like bamboo stems are solid silver, the bowls are Sakura (cherry leaf) shaped, and each one has a different Japanese figural finial. The spoons measure approximately 7 5/8 inches each. They weigh a total of 105 grams. The back of the bowls of each spoon are marked "Sterling 950", a silver purity that's actually higher than sterling silver. The spoons are in excellent condition, will need to be polished.
