The teapot with beautifully carved scene depicting Chinese tea merchants in sun hats. A second scene with a Chinese man in short pants tending to crop. The third scene woman in western dress with steer in pasture. Framed within interwoven leaf and vine, medallion and flower head shield below.
Raised fruit and floral displays within oval. Cover retains the original multi-step beaded platter and bell finial, original fastener.
Grape and leaf and flower head shield mount spout and handle. This rare 1883 Scottish sterling Tea Merchant teapot is 9 1/2 inches. And complete set weighs bit over 40 standard ounces.
