Antique 1890s/90s triple silver plated 9 piece Tea Set. This was made by the Royal Manufacturing Company of Detroit Michigan. The Royal MFG Co made silver plated items such as this Tea Set and called them "triple plated", possibly meaning they were electroplated three times to lay on a thicker coat of silver over - as one of its advertising flyers called the "white base metal". The company was active around the turn of the 20th century. It was also known as the Royal Silverware Co.
The Royal MFG Co made these claims. This is made from Brazil silver which is as lustrous and brilliant as coin silver. It is much harder and durable than coin silver. There is no plating to wear off with the metal being the same all the way through it stands to reason it can't be worn out.An excellent addition to your cottage chic, shabby chic or Hollywood regency decor.
