A Rare Quality George V Hallmarked Sterling Silver 7 piece Tea Set by the Crichton Brothers (Lionel Alfred Crichton). The Spirit Kettle is 16" in height 10" in length (rear to spout) with a diameter of 7 1/2 with a weight of 73.0 oz or 2070 grams. The Teapot is 9 3/4" handle to spout and 9" in height and 5 3/8 in diameter with a weight of 28.2 oz or 800 grams. The Coffee Pot is 11" in height and 9 1/4" handle to spout and has a diameter of 5 with a weight of 29.1 oz or 824 grams.

The Hot Water Pot is 12" in height and 6 1/2" handle to spout and has a diameter of 4 7/8 with a weight of 26.0 oz or 738 grams. The Covered Sugar Bowl is 6 1/2" in height and 7" handle to handle with a diameter of 4 3/8 and a weight of 17.4 oz or 492 grams. The Cream Jug is 7" in height and 4 1/4" handle to spout and has a diameter of 3 1/4 with a weight of 12.1 oz or 344 grams. The Open Sugar Bowl is 4" in height with a diameter of 4 1/2" and a weight of 9.9 oz or 280 grams. The Total weight of the entire set being a very Substantial 195.5 oz or 5,548 grams. The Whole Set just says Quality with every piece standing on a square pedestal base with a Beautiful Urn shape to the body with a turned in upper rim and extending neck (except the open sugar bowl) with each piece having Stunning cast and hand tooled decoration round the upper body with stunning detail to all handles and spouts with even locking rings on the spirit burner for safety with each piece having 2 hanging medallions beneath a cast tied ribbon scroll with each medallion depicting a Greek Figures. I have added over 200 photos of the set to show the Quality and detail. Crichton Brothers (Lionel Alfred Crichton) were retail and manufacturing silversmiths and was established c. 1890 by Lionel Alfred Crichton. In 1920 the firm was active with premises in London (22 Old Bond street), New York (636 Fifth Avenue) and Chicago (622 South Michigan Avenue). The Set is Free of any Initials or Monograms. The Set is in Excellent Condition with the set showing very little sign of use (see photo's). Town Mark - Leopards Head - London. Lion Passant - Sterling Mark.
