R. L. Gleason & Sons Antique Silver Plate Tea Set Very Rare
GLEASON & SONS ANTIQUE SILVER PLATE TEA SET. Produced only between 1850 and 1871. It is in excellent condition. However, there is a slight discoloration to the lip of the creamer (see photo).
The set is very large: the teapot measures 10" high, 10" across, the sugar measures 6.5" high, 9" across, and the sugar measures 5.25" high, 6.5" across. Please pay special attention to the elaborate finials on the sugar and teapot.GLEASON & SONS - Dorchester, MA Active in. Pewter makers founded by Roswell Gleason in 1822.
In the 1850s his sons Roswell Jr. Active as electroplaters from 1850 to 1871.
