JAPANESE STERLING TEA SET MIYATA - 950 PURE - GRAND BAROQUE. A very fine mid-century Japanese sterling silver 950 pure (sterling is 925) tea service. From the Japanese firm of Miyata Co. The firm crafted sterling (950 pure) in the Art Deco and Georgian styles. This set is much like Grand Baroque from International Silver.

In raised bottle form with wide tapering neck and Georgian inspired flower and scroll overhang rim. Dome cover retains the original chrysanthemum flower bud finial, the royal flower of ancient Japan. Feathered leaf crown double scroll handle, original composite heat stops.

Atop shell cap vine scroll framed scroll feet. This mid century sterling 950 teapot 11 inches and the set 51 standard ounces. The interior of the teapot is clean as if little used.
