For your considerations is an absolutely stunning. Antique 7PC tea/coffee sterling set by Eoff & Shepard, NY, 1850!
American top of the line! It's whooping 7.25 Kilo 255 Oz of " Britannia " Silver 950/1000 , better than sterling!! The makers were active just a decade, extremely collectible and rare (see Sotheby's and Chrsitie's auctions).
Eoff & Shepard, 1850's. Highest standard ever used in the US & Europe! This is truly museum level! These sets are notorious for being incredibly collectible and sought after. Shorty - it's truly fantastic, FULL, most complicated repousse with strong influence of the European Art Nouveau, stunning combination! All 7 items are covered by the extremely complicated decor of flowers and leaves. There are hundreds of hours of the silversmith handwork!The set is complete - Kettle with fantastic massive stand, tea pot, coffee pot, creamer, covered sugar bowl, open candy bowl, and large pitcher. All are properly marked for E&F, fine sterling silver 950/1000, and legendary retailer's house of Ball, Black, & Co. MASSIVE, full-sized set, the weight is. As mentioned, it's not sterling silver 925, but higher 950/1000 Britannia silver!
Dimensions: All items are full sized, XL! The kettle is over 14 inches tall (355-360mm), without the handle, over 16 inches tall (410mm) including the handle. There are some typical scratches or micro-dents inside the bases (invisible, I'm mentioning it just to be on the safe side:-). Honestly, there is nothing to report.
