Japonesque sterling silver and mixed metal tea set. This set comprises teapot, creamer, and sugar. Each: Bellied with short reeded neck and foot ring. Bracket handles (teapot handle stained wood).

Teapot has gently raised hinged cover with ball finial and s-form spout. Creamer has discreet lip spout. Allover honeycomb hand hammering applied with lots of period motifs: oversized leaves and lily pads as well as granulated soil; rich and varied population of crabs, fish, frogs, snails, lizards, and spiders.

Creamer and sugar have gilt-washed interior and 3-letter script monogram engraved on handle. 2105 and date letter for 1879 (sugar) and 1880 (teapot and creamer). Excellent condition with rich patina. Teapot: H 3 3/4 x W 6 1/2 x D 4 1/2 in. Creamer: H 2 3/8 x W 3 3/4 x D 3 3/8 in.
