Gorham Sterling Silver Tea Set Made 1898 No Mono
GORHAM STERLING TEA SET 1898 HAND DECORATED. A beautifully crafted 1898 Gorham sterling silver (partial) tea service. The set is much more more richly decorated than Grand Chantilly. Inverted pear shape shape, with wavy fluting panel alternating with satin highlighted. Petal gadrooned rim in the Georgian manner.
Cover retains the original swirl flute and bead bud finial. Wavy turned vine crown double scroll handle. We had our silversmith replace the heat stops to. Atop swirl bat's wing fluted stepped base.
