Silver plated Tea Set VTG 1950's Makers Mark. I have done much research on this set. It has a Maker's Mark that includes 3 symbols. The first is the letter "M".
The second is possibly a Fleur-de-lys in a shield. That indicates it was made around 1950. The third is the letter "C". With a crown above it. Unfortunately, this has been hard to trace and these are just speculations. This tea set needs some TLC. It needs cleaned up, a hinge on one of the lids needs welded back on and one of the finials needs welded back on.
The tray is about 22 inches long and pretty heavy. All the pieces together weigh about 13 pounds. 1 Handled Rectangular Serving Tray, 24 1/2. 1 Coffee Pot, 9 5/8. 1 Sugar Bowl w/Lid, 5 1/2. This and my other silver plated listings were given to me by my grandmother several years ago. I displayed this piece along with the others in a china cabinet for many years, but found it too much work to polish them: so, then stored them in the attic.A few years back, my grandmother offered to do the dirty task of polishing them for me and doing the best she could; as she was blind. She enjoyed cleaning them, saying it was because she could picture the shine they would have.
Sorry, as I mentioned she was blind.... I strongly suggest viewing all photos in case I haven't accurately described the item(s); including, noting any & all flaws. What you see is what you're purchasing.
