ENGLISH STERLING TEA SET TRAY 1905 ALEXANDER CLARK - NO MONOGRAM. A very fine turn of the century English sterling silver tray for serving afternoon tea. A superb re-creation of a c1810 George III design, see Waldron for illustrated examples. From Alexander Clark in 1905. The tray in classic rectangular shape with gently rounded corners.

George III inspired cast shell and scroll rim, with large in-curved center scallop shell. Framed in sweeping leaf and berry at corners, with smaller shell, leaf and berry. Boldly cast leaf and berry crown twin vine handles rising from leafy. After almost one hundred and fifteen years appears little used.
