ENGLISH STERLING TEA SET KETTLE & STAND 1870 ABERCROMBIE. A beautifully hand decorated, monumental Victorian sterling silver Abercrombie pattern tea kettle. On matching stand, with the original burner. From the well listed London shop of Robert Hennell in 1870. The Abercrombie tea kettle in squat pear shape, bead framed rim to base panel fluting. Abercrombie pattern diamond trellis and flower head with satin background. Medallion containing snow flake, twin vine, fleur-de-lis and beading. Cover retains the original beaded frame panel fluted cushion finial, original fastener below. Bead accented double scroll overhead swing handle with hand engraved center shield. To handle crest, never monogrammed. Matching stand with conforming diamond trellis and floral display with beading. Retains one of two of the original skeleton key chained securing pins. Atop pierced scroll cap, leaf accented spread leaf tip feet. This 1870 Abercrombie tea kettle on matching stand is 16 inches tall. And 11 inches spout to edge and set weighs 86 standard ounces. Kettle interior clean as if little used. Missing one of chained securing pins.
