From the well listed London shop of Martin and Hall in 1882, which opened its doors in 1860. The set in classic tapering urn form with beaded trim and satin chased ruffled acanthus border work throughout. Teapot only with period engraved presenting lion family crest, alternating with suspended fruit displays, framed in complex interwoven vine, bead and geometric work.
Hallmarked center platform cover, with original hallmarked pomegranate and leaf collar finial, with original fastener below. Shaded surface leaf cap acanthus and panel spout, rising from turned end leafy mount. Inverted leaf bifurcated and entwined branch handle with satin surface leaf terminal. The teapot period engraved crest, cream jug and sugar apparently. This English sterling Renaissance Revival teapot is 10 inches handle to spout.
And it is 9 inches tall and complete set weighs 56 standard ounces. Appears little, if ever used. Creamer with hint of original gold interior. Handle secure, retains original stops.
