Started as a spoon maker, only much later did the firm begin crafting tea wares. Slender oval form with four panel in-swept fluting. Center hand decorated - bright cut engraved crossed bough and ribbon framing Gothic M for the original owner.
Rolling wave and leaf tip borders throughout, also completely hand carved. Covers retain the original ebony wafer and sterling top finial.
Also retains the original angular ebony handle. Atop leaf crown support arm stepped oval stand on compressed bun feet. The Durgin Federal tea kettle on stand is 12 1/2 inches and complete set. Weighs 51 1/2 standard ounces. The set in very fine condition.
