BARD & SON SILVER TEA SET c1855 " WINTERTHUR MUSEUM " 77 OUNCES. An important c1855 Conrad Bard & Son silver coffee service. Examples in the Winterthur and other important museum collections. Born 1800, believed he apprenticed with Thomas Fletcher, the most important American.

Silversmith of the first half 19th century. Son joined the firm in 1849. Tapering urn with beaded trim and Greek key shoulder. Hand raised floral garland suspended from ribbon and bow tie. Cover with original twisted rope edge garden urn.

Satin chased feathered leaf and shell top spout, floral suspended. Leaf crown flower wrap tapering S handle, original heat stops. Script M one side and MFW the other side for the original owners. This c1855 Conrad Bard silver coffee pot is 12 inches tall.

And the set weighs 77 standard ounces. Interior clean as if never used.
