CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEA SET c1880 LUENWO - JAPANESE TASTE. A fine and rare c1880 Chinese export silver tea service. Crafted in the form of sliced oval bamboo trunks with two bands. Of faux rivets along lower body. Adorned with a series of life-like insects, including beetle. And house fly, applied along the surfaces. Chinese export silver with applied insects is never observed. This design, though rare, is found on Meiji period Japanese tea wares. Cover retains the original bamboo stalk finial, rising from series of.
