CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEA SET c1830 YATSHING - 107 OUNCES. A monumental c1830 Chinese export silver three piece tea service.

Exceptionally thick, hand crafted work, it weighs well over 100 standard ounces. From the Canton work shop of Yatshing. Worked in both western style, as shown here, and in the Chinese taste. Forbes illustrates a near identical tea service, page 179, from Khecheong, a bit later c1840.

Raised slender pear shape, with Georgian inspired shell and scroll overhang rim. Wide swirling foliage decorative band to center and adorning the lower spout. Cover retains the original leaf framed bud finial, original fastener below.

Atop cast, winged leaf and vine shell center scroll feet. Leaf wrap tapering handles, the teapot with original heat stops.

This rare c1830 Chinese export silver teapot is 12 inches. And the entire three piece set 107 standard ounces. Well struck hallmarks as shown. The identical Yatshing hallmark illustrated in Forbes and Kernan's texts.
