C1875 5pc Beautifully Decorated Silver Plated Tea Set

Presented is a great quality 5-piece silver-plated tea set with an oval tray made during the late 19th century. This set was made by the Hartford Silver Plate Company and a similar patterned, silver-plated copper tray is included with the set. The bottom of the tray is beautifully decorated with scrolls, flowers and weaved patterns.

The sides are cast with grape bunches, vines and leaves. Each piece has a pedestal base and has a large, flared lip around the rim. The handle and spout to every piece in this set has a lovely floral pattern over a stippled background.

The most interesting feature of this set is the border around the bottom of each piece. There is a band of design that is divided into many different triangles, each with a detailed picture.

There are images of flowers, butterflies, birds and moons over the horizon. The uncovered creamer and waste bowl have a gold wash. This set is done in a classical American Victorian aesthetic design. The set was undoubtedly made between the 1870s through the 1880s.

All pieces have a monogram of the name M. The bottom of each piece is marked Hartford Silver Plate Co.

Quadruple plate and a product number. This set includes: 1 Teapot: 9 1/4 inches from handle to tip of spout and 8 5/8 inches tall. 1 Covered Creamer: 6 1/8 inches from handle to tip of spout and 6 5/8 inches tall. 1 Creamer: 6 inches from handle to tip of spout and 5 inches tall. 1 Sugar Bowl: 7 5/8 inches from handle to handle and 7 inches tall.

1 Waste Bowl: 6 7/8 inches from handle to handle and 5 inches tall. 1 Tray: 23 1/8 inches by 14 1/2 inches. The condition of the set is very good.

There is a slight dent to the lip of the waste bowl and base of the uncovered creamer. Otherwise, there are no other dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals, no repairs and no other problems of any kind.
