The Boston firm traces its roots to a small jewelry shop opened by John Bigelow in 1830. This rare c1845 Bigelow Bros.

& Kennard sterling tea kettle on stand is 14 3/4 inches. Tall and 9 across handles and weighs about 80 standard ounces.

Period engraved initials to one side as shown. Interior clean as if little used. Handles secure, cover closes flush, the stand retains both original chained securing pins. Few tiny dinks, must hunt to find.
