RARE ILONKA KARASZ ART DECO SILVER PLATE TEA COFFEE SET WITH MILK SUGAR in overall VGC at this price!! This set is the epitome of ART DECO / BAUHAUS / STREAMLINE MODERNE design! The original (designed in 1928) is housed in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 1988, to coincide with a major art deco exhibit, The Met produced a limited number of the set- a faithful reproduction of the original - quickly snapped up by dealers and collectors alike. The four piece set offered here is in overall very good used condition, commensurate with age and use.

It has the typical light scratches here and there, a few dings, and some loss of plating. PLEASE SEE ALL PICS, which are a vital element of description. The reason we have priced this set at FAR, FAR LESS than others offered elsewhere is that instead of three separate interchangeable lids (teapot, coffee pot, sugar), this set has only one. For us, this has not been an issue, either for serving or display purposes - but is worth mentioning.
