Antique Tea Set Porcelain Silver Overlay Rare CUPID & ANGEL Pre War Bavarian

  

Being offered for your consideration is this rare Pre World War 2 Bavarian Porcelain Tea Set. This lovely set is constructed of delicate thin walled porcelain.

It is decorated with center designs of flowers and roses in blue, pink and yellow. A large Cupid with bow and an angel face each other in lavish silver overlay and the entire set is decorated with the same silver overlay in various designs and accents. The set is in remarkable condition with one tiny chip on the bottom of one saucer and a old hairline on the spout of the creamer (see image). The painting and silver overlay is in wonderful condition with one saucer showing the worst design loss (see image) and the rest of the set having minimal antique wear (see images). It is a service for four and is complete with the (13) thirteen pieces shown.

The teapot is spotless on the interior and measures approx. 7 1/2" tall and 9 1/8" wide from spout to tip of handle. The pieces are marked with a "W" in a wreath with a crown with the word Bavaria. We have never seen another set like it and this is possibly a one of a kind example!
