Antique Reed&Barton 1795 Winthrop PUMPKIN Silverplate 5pc Footed Coffee/Tea Set. Here we have a stunning set of Reed & Barton Winthrop/1795 Silverplate Coffee/Tea accutrements. This pattern is sometimes referred to as the "Pumpkin" pattern, and its plain to see why, seeing how the sensuously undulating curves are segmented in much the same way as the gourd in question. And let's not overlook the complete individual pumpkin forms dangling from their flowering stalks, set proudly atop each of the lidded pieces. These also recall what might have been seen at the tea party in Alice and Wonderland, but maybe that's just me!
The items are in fantastic shape overall with no damage or repairs. The lesser-sized teapot is prisitine inside, as is the sugar container and waste bowl. The large teapot has an internal appearance.
Of having once been in semi-regular service. And the creamer, that of occasional service. All the items have benefitted from a recent polishing. There is room to polish further, at the discretion of the next owner, acknowledging that some people prefer a little color in their silver. There is one pea-sized dimple on the broad side of the smaller teapot, but otherwise no dents or damage to speak of.
