An attractive Sterling Silver 4-piece tea and coffee set, assayed for Sheffield and dated 1948. The style of the set is modernist with rounded shapes - quite different to the previous sharp edges of Art Deco. The set consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug, and sugar bowl.
The maker's details are LR&S. The set is unusually heavy considering it is from the austere post-war era, perhaps suggesting it was specially commissioned. The condition is very good.
