1893 Antique Reed & Barton Patent by A. Jackson Silver Tea Set

  

Reed & Barton 1893 Patent "Silver Soldered" heavy silver plated Tea Set. I found the original patent dated August 22, 1893 (see second photo).

The finial is exactly the same on the sugar bowl. The finial on the teapot is the same one found on the 1892 patented teapot by the same designer. All of the pieces are heavy. The teapot weighs 2 lbs 2.6 oz, the creamer weighs 7.6 oz, and the sugar with lid weighs 9.2 oz. The tea pot is numbered 1479 and has a hinged lid. The creamer is numbered 305 as is the covered sugar bowl. The tea pot measures 10" across from handle to spout and 8" tall to finial.

Creamer is 4 3/4" across from spout to handle and 3" tall 5 1/4" across at the handles and 3 3/4" tall at the finial. A unique set with the oblong body shape and ornate handles, bases, and spout.

There is one small dent at the side of the sugar bowl (see last photo). The two bone insulators on the teapot handle have discolored. Usual minor abrasions for over 120 years of use. All three pieces are monogramed on one side. Will include the Pacific zippered cloth storage bags for all three pieces.
