WHITING STERLING TRAY c1910 "HAND CHASED" 149 OUNCES. Whiting sterling silver tea tray, with the firms "HAND CHASED" designation. Son of William Whiting the founder of Whiting Mfg. Left that firm forming his own in 1878 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The firm discontinued in 1940. Classic oval with slender wavy petal fluted rim. Gently sloping shelf of hand chased leaf and floral on partial satin surfaces. With sweeping vine scroll interrupted by smooth surface shields.
Slender petal fluted handles rising from feathered leaf. This turn of the century Frank M. Serving tray is 32 inches across handles 19 inches across and. It weighs 149 (standard) ounces.
