This is rare Civil War era Tiffany sterling hand decorated breakfast tea service. Given so few luxury sterling items were made during the war, it is a rare find.

The Gothic G is for William Gale, on of the New York City work shops. Commissioned by Tiffany at this time. Tapering form with bright cut engraved streaming leaf.

Interwoven vine and leaf tip along rim. Recessed cover with original button finials. Above star burst engraved surround.

Inverted leaf cap C scroll handle to the teapot. Breakfast teapot is bit over 7 inches and the set 29 standard ounces. Interlocking LM for the original owner.
