Mexican Sterling Tea Set Tray c1950 Juventino Lopez Reyes 109 Oz
MEXICAN STERLING SILVER TEA SET TRAY c1950 - JUVENTINO REYES - NO MONO. A very fine mid-century Mexican sterling silver tray for serving afternoon tea. Hand crafted in the shop of Juventino Lopez Reyes. A former master silversmith for Maciel, Reyes opened his own work shop in 1935. Shortly thereafter his work was featured in Mexico's foremost shops.
The tray in classic oval form with turned under rim and. Unique C-shape tapering vine handles rolled at end. Very mild surface wear and very faint lines to center from careful use, none of the lines can be felt by hand. This mid century Mexican sterling tea serving tray is 30 1/2 inches across handles. And 19 wide weighs a bit over 109 standard ounces.
