STERLING TEA KETTLE & STAND 1907 NEW YORK - 62 OUNCES. A very large and fine 1907 Howard & Co. Sterling silver tea kettle & matching stand, retaining the. The New York firm opened in 1866. Examples major collections including the Museum of the City of New York. In classic melon fluted bottle form with scallop rim and base. Bell dome cover retains the original melon fluted natural substance finial and the original. Ruffled leaf framed overhead swing handle, also retains the original stops.
Atop matching fully hallmarked stand with leaf accented scroll supports atop wide petal fluted. Dome cover with stepped shallow edge. Butterfly door burner secure to center of base with notch and twist. Hand engraved L in Gothic script for the original owner, to one side only.
This 112 year old Howard Co. Sterling kettle on stand is 12 inches tall. And the complete set weighs a bit over 62 standard ounces. Handle secure, cover closes flush.
