A very fine and clean Art Deco solid silver three piece tea set consisting of a teapot, sugar bowl and jug, by the Birmingham silversmiths Barker Brothers Silver Ltd. The teapot and sugar bowl are hallmarked for 1933, the jug is hallmarked for 1938. A very high quality item. Hallmarks: The set has English sterling silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1933/38 Lion, Anchor, date letter'J' (teapot and sugar bowl) and'O' (jug). The maker's mark'BB S Ld' refers to the silversmiths Barker Brothers Silver Ltd.

Dimensions: The teapot is c13cm high to the highest point and c27.5cm from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. The sugar bowl is c5.5cm high (excluding handles) and c15cm wide to the ends of the handles and weighs 156g. The jug is c5.8cm high (excluding handle and spout) and c14.3cm wide (maximum) and weighs 163g. The total weight is 917g (29.4ozt).
