English Sterling Tea Set 18TH CEN. IRISH STYLE LION & SWAN 63 OZ
ENGLISH STERLING TEA SET 1926 ELLIS GREENBERG "LION, FOX & SWAN". We are pleased to offer this important George III sterling (95.8 pure) silver tea set. Renown for Tenniers, Dutch tavern scenes. Period engraved crest for the original owner, under base of each piece.
This is fine 91 year old four piece British sterling tea set. Fashioned after 18th century Irish design (See Waldron). Raised urn with centre band and swan in quiet pond one side. And fox in grape vine the other. Mushroom and sterling bell finial.
And original rolled leaf cap tapering C-scroll handle. Atop lion mask cork-screw leg lion paw feet.
This vintage British lion and fox teapot is 10 1/2 inches. Entire set weighs 63 standard ounces. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf.
