ENGLISH STERLING TEA SET 1877 GEORGE ADAMS - VICTORIA ALBERT MUSEUM. A beautifully hand decorated, 1877 British sterling silver (partial) breakfast tea service.
From the highly regarded shop of George Adams. Examples from Adams are found in major collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum. Classic cylindrical form with in-swept shoulder. Beautifully hand decorated in the Chinese manner.Bright cut engraved bamboo grove alternating with large flowering tree on rocky ground. Floating diamond medallion on smooth surface neck. The cover retains the original seated Chinese man holding cup? Hand carved streaming leaf angular handle.
Period engraved Adelaide to one side. This rare 1877 British sterling breakfast teapot in the Chinese manner.
Just under 6 inches from handle to the spout. And the set weighs 15 1/2 standard ounces.
