Chinese Export Silver Tea Set c1875 Figures at Tea & Farm
CHINESE EXPORT SILVER TEA SET c1875 LUENWO, FIGURES AT TEA A very fine and rare c1875 Chinese export silver tea cup and matching saucer. From Luenwo, bearing his early hallmark.
The tea cup with center shield and engraved JIM for original owner. Set amidst song birds in bamboo grove on satin. Followed by continuous scene of Chinese figures on patio enjoying tea, farmers carrying goods, seated man smoking opium pipe and more, among dwelling and foliage.
Matching saucer with conforming hand carved bamboo border, center same JIM monogram leaf and flower. This c1875 Chinese export silver tea cup 4 1/2 inches handle to rim the saucer 4 3/8 inches and set a bit over 8 standard ounces. Rich silver, retains original detail. The cup is double walled, tiny bump interior liner at lower center, no reflected on the decorated outer wall. Each piece with identical LW hallmarks.
