Beautiful Tea and coffee set manufactured by Johnson Durban & Co Ltd of Birmingham England with a perfect patina. The company was active at Aston Road and Hubert Street in Birmingham, entering their marks in the Birmingham Assay Office in both 1897 and 1904, fine makers of electroplated silverware. Coffee pot stand at just under 8 inches tall (around 81/2 inches to top of lid knob), it is 10 inches wide from handle to spout. Tea pot stands at just under 5 inches and around 6 inches to top of knob, it is 10 inches wide from spout to handle.
Sugar bowl is around 31/2 inches high and 71/2 inches wide from handle to handle. Milk jug is around 31/2 inches high and around 5/12 inches wide from handle to spout. The set is in beautiful condition and appears to have been displayed rather than used. With its intricate engraved pattern and ox bone insulators (insulators are placed on the handles in order to prevent the handle heating), this truly is a magnificent survivor from the Victorian /Edwardian era.
